The 2017-2018 school year is about to begin. We are excited as we make preparations for the new year. As you know, we have been undergoing major renovations to our main building over the summer with help from the Capital Campaign funds. We can’t wait to share the new facility with you! Even though we are very close to being complete, we are going to need a few extra days to get everything finished, unpacked, and settled before students arrive. The Board of Directors and Administration met July 25th to evaluate our progress. We would like to announce that our first day of school will be changed to Monday, August 14, 2017. This will give us a few extra days and another weekend to get the building ready, safe, and secure for our families, students, and teachers. Because we are moving our first day, we will have three days that will be incorporated back into the school calendar. I am attaching the new revised calendar with this letter. We would like to apologize for this inconvenience, and thank you for understanding.

Because of our change in the calendar, our “Meet the Teacher” and “Technology Information” night has also changed. Please see the new schedule below.

Thursday, August 10:
3:00-5:00 PM Grades K4-6 “Meet the Teacher”(Homeroom Classrooms)
5:30 PM Grades 7-9 “Technology Information” in Gym & “Meet the Teacher”(Begin in Gym)
6:30 PM Grades 10-12 “Technology Information” in Gym & “Meet the Teacher”(Begin in Gym)
Friday, August 11:
5:00 PM MAKE-UP SESSION High School “Technology Information” (Gym)

All families are encouraged to attend during these special meetings to see our renovations and meet their teachers. All high school students and parents are required to attend a technology information session to get paperwork completed for your new 1 to 1 device. You are encouraged to bring your supplies, purchase lunch cards, parking passes ($10 for driving students), and join our technology resource plan while you are on campus. Our school is partnering with Sage Professional Development to give our students and teachers the opportunity to have access to online and technology resources. We will need each student to register while visiting on Thursday evening for this very special program. We will have computer stations set-up in the gym and in the elementary hallways to get everyone signed up. Parents, we will need to get a copy of your driver’s license and for you to answer a questionnaire at this time to get your student signed up. This program will give our K4-12th grade teachers extra resources to use in the classroom and give our 10-12th graders an opportunity to take online elective classes through OdysseyWare giving them more class choices. We are excited about partnering with this company.

Again our first full day of school will be Monday, August 14. The Main Entrance to the school will be on the left side of the building near the gym. Lunch will be served on this day. Teachers will be on duty during school hours from 7:20 until 3:20. Our first bell rings at 7:45 with the tardy bell at 7:50. We will have a staggered dismissal plan this year to help with the safety of our students. Our bus riders will load the bus at 2:55. Our high school drivers will be dismissed at 3:00. Our car riders will be dismissed at 3:08 out front. Please be aware of these times and make arrangements to drop and pick up your child on time.
